Hope Christian extended the longest winning streak in Alabama Christian (8 Man) this week by beating Wiregrass, 60-6. The victory was the eighth in a row for the Eagles.
Evangel Christian and Tuscaloosa Christian played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Evangel Christian eventually emerging with a 42-37 victory. Andrew Thompson threw for 230 yards and four touchdowns and ran for one yards in the win.
Joshua Carroll was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 12 carries, he ran for 89 yards as the Kings bested the Warriors. Billy Fleming also contributed to the rushing game with one yard on the ground.
Letson was the best wideout in Alabama Christian (8 Man) this week as Evangel Christian topped Tuscaloosa Christian. Letson tallied four receptions for 195 yards. Clay O'neal helped Evangel Christian's passing attack out by catching one ball for 16 yards.
Dillon Thompson provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Hope Christian defeated Wiregrass. He completed eight passes for 196 yards and two touchdowns and also ran for 52 yards. Thompson's favorite target this week was Charles Streets, who caught six passes for 139 yards.
5-foot-9 quarterback Thompson of Del Clayton's team is the league leader in passing yards this season with 852. He has also thrown 14 touchdowns. On the ground, Travis Sawyers' team's Joe Mays has rushed for 355 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Streets. The Hope Christian star has 15 catches for 313 yards.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Evangel Family Christian Academy and the Lightning. The Saints enters the contest ranked 10th in the state, while Evangel Christian ranks third.
