Franklin Towne came tearing into Thursday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.4 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Freire Charter by a score of 70-62. Given Franklin Towne's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 205th, while Freire Charter is ranked 574th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Franklin Towne got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Brandon Leaks out in front who scored 17 points along with three steals. Josh Skeete was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Franklin Towne's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Freire Charter, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
Franklin Towne won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Overbrook at 8:00 p.m. on December 22nd. Hopefully Overbrook focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 last Tuesday. Freire Charter will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Kennett on January 3, 2024.
