The Hunter-Kinard-Tyler Trojans won the last time they faced the Blackville-Hilda Fighting Hawks, and things went their way on Friday too. Hunter-Kinard-Tyler took down Blackville-Hilda 52-38. The win made it back-to-back wins for Hunter-Kinard-Tyler.
Tilayzia Youmans was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 31 points and 11 rebounds. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Akeira Blue, who scored five points along with nine blocks and five steals.
Blackville-Hilda's loss came despite strong showings from Breyanna Williams and Eva Sapp. Williams scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and seven steals, while Sapp scored ten points along with seven steals. Williams is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.
Hunter-Kinard-Tyler's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-3. As for Blackville-Hilda, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Denmark-Olar the next time they take the court. Blackville-Hilda will head out to face Denmark-Olar at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, while Hunter-Kinard-Tyler will host them at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
