Basketball Recap: Woodson's Winning Streak Snapped at Seven Games

It was a good run, but Woodson unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Friday. They received a blow as they fell 66-51 to the Benjamin Mustangs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cowboys of the 42-39 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2017.

Despite the loss, Woodson saw an underclassman step up: freshman Gunner Oliver went 6 for 13 on his way to 15 points. Hagen Miller was another key player, putting up seven points and five boards.

Woodson's defeat dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Benjamin, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Woodson wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 63-59 win against Prairie Valley on the 27th. As for Benjamin, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 46-45 loss against Guthrie on the 27th.
