The Choctawhatchee Indians won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Wednesday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 55-35 walloping at the hands of Booker T. Washington. Choctawhatchee has struggled against Booker T. Washington recently, as their game on Wednesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
When it comes to explaining why Choctawhatchee lost, one person who can't be blamed is Robert Spells. Despite the final result, he scored eight points along with five steals. Tykees Alford was another key contributor, scoring four points along with two steals and two blocks.
Booker T. Washington got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Alex Jasquith out in front who scored ten points along with six rebounds and three steals. Jasquith hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler White, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds.
Choctawhatchee has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season. As for Booker T. Washington, they pushed their record up to 12-6 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home.
Choctawhatchee's road trip will continue as they head out to face South Walton at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th. South Walton will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. As for Booker T. Washington, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Pine Forest at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Pine Forest is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.
