The Cypress Lake Panthers pushed their score all the way to 62 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They received a tough blow as they fell 79-62 to Palmetto.
When it comes to explaining why Cypress Lake lost, one person who can't be blamed is Giordan Easely. Despite the final result, he scored 24 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. The match was Easely's ninth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jacques Duversone, who scored nine points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Palmetto to victory, but perhaps none more so than Santiago Henriquez, who scored 23 points along with three steals. The match was Henriquez's 15th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Joshua Lipson, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and seven assists.
Cypress Lake has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-7 record this season. As for Palmetto, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cypress Lake and Lehigh will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. One thing working in Lehigh's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matches.
