Jupiter is a perfect 8-0 against Cardinal Newman since March of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Warriors will host the Crusaders at 6:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Jupiter 4, Cardinal Newman 2.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
If Jupiter beats Cardinal Newman with 14 runs on Wednesday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. The Warriors put the hurt on Dwyer with a sharp 14-4 win on Friday. Considering the Warriors have won ten games by more than seven runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Jupiter got a massive performance out of Gabe Graulau, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Colton Schwarz, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3.
Jupiter was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .480. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dwyer only posted a batting average of .211.
Meanwhile, Cardinal Newman came tearing into Monday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Sharks. Four seems to be a good number for the Crusaders as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.
Gabriel Acevedo was incredible, firing off two home runs and three RBI while going 3-for-3. Those two home runs gave him a new career-high. Finn Duran was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run and one double.
Jupiter is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Cardinal Newman, their win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-2-1.
Wednesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Jupiter hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .317. However, it's not like Cardinal Newman struggles in that department as they've averaged .314. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Jupiter came out on top in a nail-biter against Cardinal Newman in their previous meeting back in April of 2021, sneaking past 3-2. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do the Crusaders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
