Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Royse City). They put the hurt on the Alief Taylor Lions with a sharp 72-52 victory on Friday. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 369th, while the Lions are ranked 777th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Alief Taylor's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Sean Kongolo, who went 5 for 7 on his way to 13 points, and Pomalo Ganda, who went 5 of 10 en route to 14 points. Ganda is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Davion Ridgeway, who posted five points and three steals.

Royse City's win bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Alief Taylor, their loss dropped their record down to 4-13.

Royse City wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 75-48 victory against Brazoswood on the 27th. As for Alief Taylor, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 66-58 win against Texas City on the 27th.
