Even though the Sumner Stingrays scored an imposing 69 points on Tuesday, the Robinson Knights still came out on top. Robinson escaped with a win against Sumner by the margin of a single free throw, 70-69. Winning may never get old, but Robinson sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Robinson's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but LaJesse Harrold led the charge by dropping a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Harrold scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Russell, who scored 15 points along with seven assists.
Sumner's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Isaiah Williams, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 15 rebounds, and Jacob Douglas who scored 15 points along with six assists and two steals. Douglas hasn't dropped below two steals for eight straight games. Devin Baker was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Robinson has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. As for Sumner, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-5.
Robinson will take on Steinbrenner at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Steinbrenner is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. As for Sumner, they will head out on the road to take on Brandon at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Brandon is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
