The Weldon Valley Warriors and the Lone Star Longhorns will compete for holiday cheer  at 7:00  p.m.  on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

 Despite the  defeat, Weldon Valley had strong showings from  August Filter, who  posted 16  points, and  Zander Braun, who  earned 11 points and four  steals. With that strong performance,  Braun is now averaging an impressive 2.2  steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of  Doug Fenn, who  put up two points along with eight  rebounds, three  steals,  and three  blocks.
 Meanwhile, Lone Star was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight  loss  dating back to last season. The  contest between them and Prairie didn't end well, with Lone Star falling  51-35.
 Weldon Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Lone Star, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.
 Weldon Valley barely slipped by Lone Star when the teams last played  back in January, winning  41-40. The rematch might be a little tougher for Weldon Valley since the  team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
