On Saturday, Mansfield Senior beat Ross 52-45. Given Mansfield Senior's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 194th, while Ross is ranked 395th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Mansfield Senior got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Dondreas Reese out in front who scored ten points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Karion Lindsay, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Several Little Giants players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Michael Stover, who scored four points along with three steals. Those three steals set a new season-high mark for him. Ryan Tucker was another key contributor, scoring six points.
The victory makes it two in a row for Mansfield Senior and bumps their season record up to 3-2. As for Ross, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mansfield Senior will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Eastmoor Academy at 7:30 p.m. on December 21st. As for Ross, they will take on Napoleon at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Napoleon knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Ross likes a good challenge.
