Lead-Deadwood took a 60-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of New Underwood. Lead-Deadwood's defeat continues a unfortunate trend for the squad, making it three in a row.
New Underwood's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cash Albers, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. Those six steals set a new season-high mark for him. Jaxon Fulton was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds.
Lead-Deadwood bumped their record down to 3-4 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for New Underwood, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lead-Deadwood will challenge Belle Fourche at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Belle Fourche is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. New Underwood will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Oelrichs at 5:30 p.m. on January 16th.
