Softball Recap: Marin Catholic Snags 11th Victory in Last 13 Games

Marin Catholic won the last time they faced Terra Linda and things went their way on Monday too. The Wildcats blew past the Trojans 18-3. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Lana Wihlborg, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and three RBI. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Bella Ferrety, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, two RBI, and one double.

Marin Catholic always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .590. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Terra Linda only posted an OBP of .417.

Marin Catholic has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Terra Linda, their loss was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 8-12.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marin Catholic will take on San Rafael at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Wildcats surely won't give up without a fight. As for Terra Linda, they will face off against Redwood at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Trojans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Giants have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season.
