The School for Creative Performing Arts Raiders had to endure a four-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. In a tight match that could have gone either way, they made off with a 43-42 win over DePaul Cristo Rey. The win was just what School for Creative Performing Arts needed coming off of a 66-10 loss in their prior matchup.
Despite the loss, DePaul Cristo Rey still got an impressive performance from Britain Starks, who scored 25 points. Starks scored a full 59.5% of DePaul Cristo Rey's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Aimabale Niyongabo, who scored six points.
School for Creative Performing Arts' win bumped their record up to 1-2. As for DePaul Cristo Rey, their loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. School for Creative Performing Arts will face off against Gamble Montessori at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for DePaul Cristo Rey, they will head out on the road to face off against Spring Valley Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Spring Valley Academy is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
