The Chandler Lions''s game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They came out on top against Star-Spencer by a score of 23-14. Given Chandler's advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma football rankings (they are ranked 46th, while Star-Spencer is ranked 150th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Carson Clagg went supernova for Chandler, rushing for 260 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.4 yards per carry. Clagg hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for six straight games.
Despite the defeat, Star-Spencer saw an underclassman step up: Braylon Lassitier threw for 143 yards and two touchdowns.
Chandler's victory was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 7-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 37.7 points per game. As for Star-Spencer, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.
Chandler will look to defend their home field on Friday against Luther at 7:00 p.m. That game will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Ruben Vega and Clagg. As for Star-Spencer, they will head out on the road to face off against Meeker at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
