The Kerman Lions are taking a road trip to challenge the Hanford West Huskies at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Kerman barely beat Washington Union the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Lions' pitcher stepped up to hand the Panthers a 10-0 shutout on Friday. The Lions haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Roxy Alvarez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Sydney Yep and Jaymee Hick did most of the damage at the plate: Yep went 1-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI, while Hick went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Jadyn Grewal was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run.
Kerman lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since the start of last season.
Hanford West hadn't beaten Selma on the road since April 11, 2019 but that history sure didn't bother them on Friday. The Huskies were the clear victors by a 19-11 margin over the Bears. The win was familiar territory for the Huskies, who have now won three matches in a row.
Hanford West got a massive performance out of Kennidy Perryman, who went 4-for-5 with six RBI, two stolen bases, and three doubles. Those three doubles gave Perryman a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Karmen Vazquez, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Kerman's record now sits at 8-3. As for Hanford West, their record is now 11-2.
Hanford West's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Kerman has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.6 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Hanford West, though, as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.8 strikeouts. Will Kerman keep running through batters, or will the Huskies buck the trend?
