Hobart will take on Merritt at home at 7:00 PM on Friday. Merritt will need to watch out since Hobart have now posted big point totals in their last five contests.
Hobart brought a five-game winning streak into their game against Cordell last Thursday; they left with a six-game streak. Hobart were the clear victor by a 39-14 margin over Cordell. Hobart had a senior duo take command as Simon Chounlamany rushed for 131 yards and 1 touchdown and Joshua Molina rushed for 47 yards and 3 touchdowns. Meinert has now scored at least one touchdown in the past seven games.
Meanwhile, it was all tied up at the half for Merritt and Mangum, but Merritt stepped up in the second half. Merritt snuck past Mangum with a 26-20 victory. The team accrued the bulk of their points in the first half (20) and coasted on those for the victory.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 6-2. Since neither squad is a stranger to landslide victories this season, you'd better bet it will be hard-fought showdown.
