The Bloomington Purple Raiders lost against the Peoria Lions back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Bloomington lost to Peoria at home by a decisive 50-34 margin. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Bloomington in their matchups with Peoria: they've now lost six in a row.
Despite the loss, Bloomington saw an underclassman step up: Tina Lenard scored 11 points along with two steals. Lenard is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last ten games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Crissiana Rose, who scored seven points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
Bloomington's loss dropped their record down to 13-16. As for Peoria, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 21-3.
Bloomington does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Peoria, they will take on Dunlap at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
