Citrus Hill hadn't done well against West Valley recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Citrus Hill Hawks walked away with a 71-62 victory over the West Valley Mustangs. The win was nothing new for the Hawks as they're now sitting on six straight.

Citrus Hill's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alaric(AJ) Hayes, who went 14 of 27 en route to 34 points. Another player making a difference was Kannon Steward, who posted ten points along with eight steals and six assists.

Citrus Hill was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Valley only racked up six assists.

Malachi Black and Ahmad McClellan certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Black went 8 of 13 en route to 23 points along with eight boards and three steals, while McClellan went 8 of 12 on his way to 21 points and eight rebounds. Black has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 13 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamessen Lima, who had six points and seven boards.

Citrus Hill has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.5 points per game. As for West Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5.

Citrus Hill didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 72-60 win against Lakeside on the 19th. As for West Valley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 69-63 victory against Redlands East Valley on the 20th.
