The Middle Township Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 20 points or more this season. They put the hurt on Absegami with a sharp 51-31 victory on Wednesday. The score was close at the half, but Middle Township pulled away in the second half with 33 points.
Madison Palek continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 16 rebounds. She also grabbed two steals for the first time this season. Mckenzie Palek was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with four steals.
Middle Township's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.3 points per game. As for Absegami, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Middle Township will take on Cedar Creek at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Cedar Creek will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New Jersey Rankings (they are ranked 300th, while Middle Township is ranked 22nd). As for Absegami, they will be playing at home against St. Joseph on Saturday.
