After a string of three wins, the Vista PEAK Prep Bison's's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of Mead by a score of 54-52.
When it comes to explaining why Vista PEAK Prep lost, one person who can't be blamed is Alante Monroe-elazier. Despite the final result, he scored 19 points. Monroe-elazier is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. Kyree Polk was another key contributor, scoring 8 points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mead to victory, but perhaps none more so than Matthew Angelo, who scored 15 points along with 6 assists and 5 rebounds. The contest was Angelo's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dominic McLawrence, who scored 16 points along with 5 rebounds.
Vista PEAK Prep's loss dropped their record down to 3-1. As for Mead, their win bumped their record up to an identical 3-1.
Vista PEAK Prep will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Erie at 1:00 p.m. on December 9th. As for Mead, they will be playing at home against Monarch at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Monarch focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Friday.
