After flying high against Montclair last Tuesday, Whittier Christian came back down to earth. The Whittier Christian Heralds took a 62-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Brea Olinda Wildcats. Whittier Christian lost on Friday despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Aaron Sandoval, who went 7 of 9 on his way to 17 points and eight rebounds. Sandoval has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Leland Carrido, who posted eight points in addition to ten rebounds and seven assists.
It was another big night for Logan Severson, who went 6 of 7from beyond the arc on his way to 21 points for Brea Olinda. The dominant performance gave Severson a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Jackson, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 13 points and six rebounds.
Whittier Christian now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Brea Olinda, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Whittier Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 65-62 defeat against Diamond Ranch on the 30th. As for Brea Olinda, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 76-60 loss against Esperanza on the 30th.
