Caston had won five straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they bumped up to 2-0 to make it six. They blew past the Lakeland Christian Academy Cougars 74-36. The Comets pushed the score to 60-27 by the end of the third, a deficit the Cougars had no chance of recovering from.
Caston was led to victory by Lane Hook and Logan Mollenkopf. Hook went 11-for-15 en route to 27 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals, while Mollenkopf shot 53% from the field on his way to 20 points along with seven boards and seven steals. Those seven steals gave Mollenkopf a new career-high. Drew McGrew was another key player, putting up five points and three steals.
As for Lakeland Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. They haven't had much luck with Caston recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
