The Cedar Ridge Raiders pushed their score all the way to 55 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 62-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bowie. While losing is never fun, Cedar Ridge can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 462nd, while Bowie is ranked 183rd).
When it comes to explaining why Cedar Ridge lost, one person who can't be blamed is Peyton Dulin. Despite the final result, he scored 20 points along with 8 rebounds and 4 steals. Dulin scored a full 36.4% of Cedar Ridge's points, the eighth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Sam Fielding was another key contributor, scoring 9 points.
This is the second loss in a row for Cedar Ridge and nudges their season record down to 4-4. As for Bowie, their victory bumped their record up to 6-4.
Cedar Ridge is on the road again on Friday and play against Wilmer-Hutchins at 9:00 a.m. on December 1st. Wilmer-Hutchins is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Bowie, they will face off against Midlothian at TBD on Friday.
