Andrews is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Swain County is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Andrews Wildcats will take on the Swain County Maroon Devils at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Andrews has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 669 points over their last ten matches.
Even though Andrews has not done well against Hayesville recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Andrews walked away with a 58-50 victory over Hayesville. Given Andrews' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 221st, while Hayesville is ranked 465th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Andrews' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cameron Rattler, who scored 23 points along with nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabe Clark, who scored 13 points.
Meanwhile, Swain County didn't have too much trouble with Robbinsville on the road on Tuesday as they won 66-52. Swain County pushed the score to 44-24 by the end of the third, a deficit Robbinsville cut but never quite recovered from.
Andrews has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-2 record this season. As for Swain County, their win bumped their record up to 12-5.
Andrews couldn't quite finish off Swain County in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 and fell 51-48. Can Andrews avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
