Basketball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Langley

Langley waltzed into their matchup on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They snuck past the Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart Gators with a 49-45 win.

Langley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Anya Rahman led the charge by dropping a double-double on 16 points and 11 boards. What's more, Rahman also racked up six assists, the most she's had since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Alice Allen, who posted 15 points.

Langley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 14 offensive boards in three consecutive games.

Despite the defeat, Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart had strong showings from Sophie Stoltz, who went 7 of 14 en route to 18 points, and Josie Watts, who shot 4-for-7 from long range and dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. Watts is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Molly Dyszkiewicz was another key player, putting up five points.

Langley has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. As for Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart, their loss dropped their record down to 9-5.

Langley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 49-26 victory against McLean on the 21st. Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart has also already played their next game, a 58-29 win against St. Stephen's & St. Agnes on the 21st.
