The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Queen's Grant in their matchups with Mountain Island Charter: they've now lost eight in a row.
Queen's Grant's loss came despite strong showings from Garrett Morgan and Jermaine Moncrieffe. Morgan scored 27 points along with 9 assists and 5 rebounds, while Moncrieffe scored 12 points along with 9 rebounds and 7 blocks. Morgan scored a full 34.2% of Queen's Grant's points, the ninth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Darian Nhek was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Even though they lost, Queen's Grant were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mountain Island Charter only pulled down 12.
Mountain Island Charter found their leader in underclassman Christan Jones, who scored 28 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Jones has scored at least 25% of Mountain Island Charter's points. Another player making a difference was Tavien Julius, who scored 6 points along with 7 assists.
Queen's Grant bumped their record down to 4-5 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.0 points per game. As for Mountain Island Charter, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

As for Mountain Island Charter, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Valor Preparatory Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
