The Seaford Bluejays will head out on the road to face off against the Polytech Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Delaware (Seaford is ranked 33rd, while Polytech is ranked 25th).
Last Friday, Seaford came up short against Brandywine and fell 14-7. Seaford has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, Polytech had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25.3 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Saturday. They managed a 30-24 win over Conrad Science. Polytech had a rough season last year, but they look ready to turn that poor record around this year.
Polytech got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Noah Walker out in front who rushed for 222 yards and a touchdown. Walker's longest rush was for an incredible 73 yards. Tizonn Trotter was in the mix too, providing Polytech with two touchdowns.
Brandywine's victory bumped their season record to 5-2 while Seaford's defeat dropped theirs to 3-4.
Everything came up roses for Seaford against Polytech in their previous matchup back in September of 2022 as the team secured a 50-13 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Seaford since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
