Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Still Creek Christian). They walked away with a 69-60 win over the Community Christian Lions on Saturday. Winning may never get old, but the Colts sure are getting used to it with their tenth in a row.
Still Creek Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Logan Walton, who went 8 for 20 on his way to 19 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals. Walton is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last three games he's played. Jeremy Reed was another key player, dropping a double-double on 18 points and ten boards.
Still Creek Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in 13 consecutive matches.
Several Lions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Levi Hinton, who went 9 of 17 to rack up 21 points along with five rebounds and three blocks. Those three blocks gave Hinton a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ben Samuel, who went 6 for 13 en route to 17 points.
Still Creek Christian's victory bumped their record up to 21-7. As for Community Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-19.
