Douglas has gone a perfect 5-0 against Arab recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Eagles will welcome the Knights at 4:30 p.m. Douglas will be strutting in after a win while Arab will be coming in after a defeat.
On Friday, Douglas earned a 5-1 victory over Guntersville. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.
Bella Baker made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ava Williams, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Brensyn Beck was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 12 runs the game before, Arab was a bit more limited in their contest on Thursday. They lost 12-2 to Scottsboro. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 15, 2025, but that streak is no more.
Emerson Christian was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.
Arab's loss dropped their record down to 9-14-1. As for Douglas, their victory bumped their record up to 15-5.
Monday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Douglas hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .327. However, it's not like Arab struggles in that department as they've averaged .324. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Douglas skirted past Arab 4-2 in their previous meeting back in February. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Knights have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
