Basketball Recap: Saturday's Defeat Ends Stockton's Winning Streak

It was a good run, but Stockton unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Saturday. They lost to the Wethersfield Flying Geese on the road by a 45-30 margin. The Blackhawks were probably out for revenge after losing 46-37 to them when the teams met back in December of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Several Blackhawks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Madie Mammoser, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 boards. Mammoser has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played. Another player making a difference was Dylann Broshous, who posted nine points.

Stockton's loss dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Wethersfield, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-2.

Stockton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 23-17 win against Rockridge on the 30th. As for Wethersfield, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 54-37 defeat against Monmouth-Roseville on the 30th.
