The Rangeview Raiders will square off against the Denver South Ravens at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Rangeview is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.
Rangeview proved they can win big on Monday (they won by three) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past DSST: College View 3-2.
Rangeview had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 26-28, 19-25, 25-20, 25-23, 15-12.
Rangeview can attribute much of their success to Anthony Tampubolon, who had ten digs. Jason Quach also deserves some recognition as he had his first block of the season.
Rangeview was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Denver South didn't have quite enough to beat Vista PEAK Prep on Friday and fell 3-2. The defeat continues a trend for the Ravens in their meetings with the Bison: they've now lost three in a row.
In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Denver South sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 24-26, 25-16, 21-25, 15-11.
Denver South's loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Rangeview, their victory bumped their record up to 8-5.
Everything went Rangeview's way against Denver South when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Rangeview made off with a 3-0 win. Do the Raiders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Ravens turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
