The Cooper City Cowboys will head out on the road to face off against the McArthur Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams have allowed few points on average, (Cooper City: 24.5, McArthur: 19.6) so any points scored will be well earned.
Cooper City put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Coral Glades 46-13 at home.
Cooper City's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Eliana Reese, who scored 15 points along with 6 rebounds and 5 steals. The matchup was Reese's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Isabella Riollana, who scored 13 points along with 6 rebounds and 5 steals.
McArthur has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 40 points or more this season. They really took it to Pembroke Pines Charter for the full four quarters, racking up a 69-27 victory at home. Given McArthur's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 96th, while Pembroke Pines Charter is ranked 280th), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.
The opposite results left the teams with opposite records: Cooper City's victory pushed their record up to 4-0, while Coral Glades' defeat dropped theirs down to 0-4.
Cooper City came up short against McArthur in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, falling 52-45. Can Cooper City avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
