Lambert (Suwanee, Ga.) had a big 28-point first quarter on Saturday, sealing a 55-27 victory over
Northview (Johns Creek, Ga.).
The Longhorns scored on a
Brock Maxwell touchdown pass to
Chris Laye, a touchdown pass by Maxwell to
Jake Stanford, a
Daniel Myers touchdown run and a touchdown run by Myers in the quarter.
Lambert was up 38-14 at the half after taking the lead on a touchdown pass by Maxwell to Laye in the first quarter.
Both teams scored seven points in the third quarter, so the margin remained at 24 entering the fourth.
LHS's most effective player was
Ryan Karjala. The senior kicked two field goals and six extra points.
With the win the Suwanee school extended its winning streak to three games. The loss was the third in a row for the Titans.
Northview (0-3) goes up against Pope in a non-conference game matchup next week, while Lambert (3-0) locks horns with South Forsyth in a AAAAAA Region 6 game.
