Polytech and Cape Henlopen are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2016, but likely not for long. The Panthers will take on Cape Henlopen at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Polytech is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.7 runs per game this season.

Riley Merritt tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Emma Shelton was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted over her last ten contests. Bayley Messick also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, Cape Henlopen faced Archmere Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. Cape Henlopen blew past Archmere Academy 14-4.
Riley Windish made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Windish was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Cape Henlopen got a massive performance out of Jordynn Bowe, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. Makaila Sellers was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.
Cape Henlopen was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .517. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Polytech's record now sits at 14-5. As for Cape Henlopen, their record is now 6-7.
Polytech came up short against Cape Henlopen when the teams last played back in May of 2025, falling 5-1. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
