ALIANA BRIGHTBILL made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over six innings while giving up five earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. BRIGHTBILL was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, AVA HUGHES was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one triple. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April of 2024. AUTUMN KEHLER was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and one double.
Shamokin Area kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.8 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matchups they've averaged 9.6.
Shamokin Area's win bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Selinsgrove, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 4-7.
