Logan Clark made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one triple. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Halifax County let Carter Thomasson and Jay Farmer run wild. Thomasson got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Farmer went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Jaharie Edmonds was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Halifax County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .500 or higher in three consecutive games.
Halifax County pushed their record up to 11-7 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Tunstall, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-3.
Coming up, Halifax County will venture away from home to face off against Magna Vista at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Warriors will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Comets surely won't give up without a fight. As for Tunstall, they will take on Martinsville at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bulldogs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.78 runs per game on average), something the Trojans will no doubt try to take advantage of.
