It was a good run, but the Lynn English Bulldogs unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell to Charlestown 78-74. Lynn English was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Townies apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2018.
When it comes to explaining why Lynn English lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kyle Kemembin. Despite the final result, he scored 29 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Kemembin has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Pierre Veras, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds.
Lynn English's loss ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-3. As for Charlestown, they pushed their record up to 12-1 with that win, which was their third straight at home.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lynn English will take on the Red Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Chelsea will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Massachusetts Rankings (they are ranked 249th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 55th). As for Charlestown, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Titans at 5:30 p.m. on February 2nd.
