The Paw Paw Pirates lost against the Pendleton County Wildcat last Wednesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Paw Paw was beaten by Pendleton County 71-43. Paw Paw was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-15.
Several Pirates players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Donavan Tanouye, who scored 21 points along with six rebounds and three steals. That was a full 48.8% of Paw Paw's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Taylor Carder, who scored 12 points.
Paw Paw's defeat dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Pendleton County, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season.
Paw Paw didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 62-25 victory vs. Timber Ridge on the 12th. Pendleton County will head out on the road to challenge Union at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Union focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Monday.
