The Castle View Sabercats will take on the Mountain Vista Golden Eagles at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Castle View 4, Mountain Vista 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Castle View will bounce into Monday's matchup after beating Heritage, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Sabercats walked away with a 10-6 victory over the Eagles on Friday. The game was the first time the Sabercats have beaten the Eagles on their field since April 22, 2015.

Keyan Lundvall made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up five earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Tommy Feldhake, who fired off two home runs, two stolen bases, and three runs while going 4-for-5. Those two home runs gave him a new career-high. Derek Gordon was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Castle View was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Heritage only posted a batting average of .222.
Meanwhile, Mountain Vista came tearing into Friday's contest with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Falcons a 5-0 shutout.
Jackson Crawford was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.
Mountain Vista's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-5. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Castle View, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-4.
Castle View's speedy runners might be the difference in Monday's game. The Sabercats have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.9 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Mountain Vista, though, as they've been averaging only 1.2 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Castle View continue to outrun the ball?
Castle View came out on top in a nail-biter against Mountain Vista in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. Do the Sabercats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Golden Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
