East Henderson is 2-8 against the Knights since November of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The East Henderson Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the North Henderson Knights at 7:30 p.m. East Henderson is coming into the contest hot, having won their last seven games.
Last Friday, East Henderson strolled past the Mountaineers with points to spare, taking the game 63-48. Given East Henderson's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 128th, while the Mountaineers are ranked 566th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Caiden Brewer, who scored 34 points along with seven assists and five rebounds. He hasn't dropped below 16 points for 16 straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Evans, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but North Henderson ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They snuck past Franklin with a 57-53 victory. The victory was familiar territory for North Henderson who now have four in a row.
East Henderson is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. As for North Henderson, their win bumped their record up to 17-5.
East Henderson came out on top in a nail-biter against the Knights when the teams last played back in January, sneaking past 51-49. The rematch might be a little tougher for East Henderson since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
