Springfield got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jameka Brungard out in front who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Brungard has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Ava Vecchione, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Salem's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight defeat. They took a hard 55-37 fall against Boardman.
Springfield is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. As for Salem, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season.
