It was a good run, but the Snow Hill Eagles unfortunately witnessed the end of their 14-game winning streak on Saturday. They received a tough blow as they fell 71-55 to Decatur. Snow Hill was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Decatur apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played last Thursday.
Decatur's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Davin Chandler, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 19 rebounds. Careen Bolden was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with four steals.
Snow Hill's loss ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 14-2. As for Decatur, their win was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-1.
Snow Hill will head out on the road to square off against Bennett at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bennett knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven games -- so hopefully Snow Hill likes a good challenge. As for Decatur, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Pocomoke at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pocomoke will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Maryland Rankings (they are ranked 186th, while Decatur is ranked 38th).
