On Friday, things could have been worse for Veritas Classical Academy, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 65-49 loss to Kirbyville.
Despite the loss, Veritas Classical Academy still got an impressive performance from Ty Merrill, who scored 22 points. Merrill scored a full 44.9% of Veritas Classical Academy's points, the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Wylie Montgomery, who scored 13 points.
Veritas Classical Academy now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Kirbyville, their victory bumped their record up to 5-6.
Veritas Classical Academy will square off against Diboll at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Kirbyville, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against West Hardin at 4:30 p.m.
