The Burbank Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Edison Golden Bears at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Burbank will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
Even though Burbank has not done well against Sam Houston recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Burbank came out on top in a nail-biter against Sam Houston and snuck past 55-52. The score was all tied up 22-22 at the break, but Burbank was the better team in the second half.
Olivia De la cruz and Zara'nique Nealy were among the main playmakers for Burbank as the former scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and three steals and the latter dropped a triple-double on 12 points, ten rebounds, and ten steals. The matchup was De la cruz's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Nyila Botello, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Edison escaped with a win on Friday against Lanier by the margin of a single free throw, 37-36. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Edison.
Burbank has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. As for Edison, their win bumped their record up to 9-10.
Burbank strolled past Edison in their previous matchup back in January by a score of 55-36. Will Burbank repeat their success, or does Edison have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
