Basketball Recap: Central Comes Up Short

Central lost against Miramar back in December of 2019 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Central Rockets fell just short of the Miramar Patriots by a score of 70-68. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (66), the Rockets still had to take the loss.

Despite the loss, Central still got an impressive performance from Keri Foster, who went 8 of 12 en route to 21 points along with six boards and five assists. Foster's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Marlon Gaitan, who went 5 for 11 on his way to 16 points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Miramar to victory, but perhaps none more so than Siah Blot, who went 7 of 17 en route to 23 points. Blot is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Joshua Skinner was another key player, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds.

Central has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 15-6 record this season. As for Miramar, their record is now 16-8.

Central will square off against Royal Palm Beach at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Royal Palm Beach will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Central surely won't give up without a fight. As for Miramar, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 50-37 win against Deerfield Beach on the 30th.
