Harrells Christian Academy had won six straight games and Antonio McKoy did his part to make it seven on Saturday. The Crusaders walked away with a 58-47 win over the Northside Christian Mustangs with plenty of help from McKoy, who almost dropped a double-double with 24 points and nine rebounds. That makes it six consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Harrells Christian Academy's points.
The team also got some help courtesy of J'Kaeshi Brunson, who posted four points and eight assists. He has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last seven times he's played.
Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jordan Bender, who went 5-for-9 to rack up 10 points and five boards. Another player making a difference was IEAN ALLEN, who put up ten points and five rebounds.
Harrells Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Northside Christian, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-2.
Coming up, Harrells Christian Academy is taking a road trip to take on Rocky Mount Academy at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Northside Christian, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, an 80-67 win against North Tampa Christian Academy on the 8th.
