The Trumann Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Harrisburg Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Trumann and 16 for Harrisburg dating back to last season.
Last Friday, Trumann took a serious blow against Rivercrest, falling 49-14. Trumann was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-7.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Jake Osment, who rushed for 140 yards and a touchdown. Osment hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Cade Hatton, who rushed for 72 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Harrisburg was beaten by Gosnell 61-7 on Friday. Harrisburg was already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.
Trumann now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Harrisburg, their loss was their ninth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-9.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's game: Trumann has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 249.8 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for Harrisburg, though, as they've been averaging only 72.2 per game. How will Harrisburg fare against such a dominant running game?
Everything came up roses for Trumann against Harrisburg when the teams last played back in November of 2022 as the team secured a 48-21 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Trumann since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
