The Boardman Spartans scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They took down Harding 64-46. Given Boardman's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 100th, while Harding is ranked 306th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Boardman to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sarah Bero, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. That's the first time this season that Bero scored 15 or more points. Samantha Duble was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with six rebounds.
Boardman's win bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Harding, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 6-7.
Boardman will be playing at home against Howland at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Harding, they will head out on the road to square off against Canfield at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Canfield and Harding are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
