Hidden Valley made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Henley, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Mustangs were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Hornets on Friday. Considering the Mustangs have won six matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Scarlett Gordon made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits (and only one walk). Gordon was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Hidden Valley got a massive performance out of Aubree Schmidt, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one double. That's the most runs Schmidt has posted since back in May of 2024. Bailey Sandquist was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two runs.
Hidden Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .481. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .323 or higher in three consecutive games.
Hidden Valley's win bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Henley, their loss ended an 18-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-3.
